The governor answered and said to them, Whether of the two will you that I release to you? They said, Barabbas.
You have put away my acquaintance far from me; you have made me an abomination to them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom will you that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
Pilate said to them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say to him, Let him be crucified.
But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
