And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

Establish your word to your servant, who is devoted to your fear.

O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, and the son of your handmaid: you have loosed my bonds.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

For he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from now on all generations shall call me blessed.

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a female slave, the other by a free woman.
