And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray you, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession to him; and tell me now what you have done; hide it not from me.

And he said, What have they seen in your house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in my house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them.

For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God.

And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which has power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what you have done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand, and, see, I must die.

Why you shall make images of your tumors, and images of your mice that mar the land; and you shall give glory to the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
