Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for my sake? Truly, truly, I say to you, The cock shall not crow, till you have denied me thrice.
Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, That this night, before the cock crow, you shall deny me thrice.
And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, you shall deny me thrice.
And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.
And he said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that you shall thrice deny that you know me.
Jesus answered them, Do you now believe?
He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Love you me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.
And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
Why let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
