The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Listen to me, you that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear you not the reproach of men, neither be you afraid of their revilings.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yes, the time comes, that whoever kills you will think that he does God service.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, sought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that you do, except God be with him.

However, no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ comes, will he do more miracles than these which this man has done?

These words spoke his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

They answered and said to him, You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us? And they cast him out.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.

Hereby know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
