Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

Although you say you shall not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust you in him.

See, he goes by me, and I see him not: he passes on also, but I perceive him not.

Why stand you afar off, O LORD? why hide you yourself in times of trouble?

You have beset me behind and before, and laid your hand on me.

Truly you are a God that hide yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach to; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
