Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and shine on the counsel of the wicked?

Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

As God lives, who has taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who has vexed my soul;

Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God has hedged in?

You are become cruel to me: with your strong hand you oppose yourself against me.

Will you also cancel my judgment? will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?

Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yes, return again, my righteousness is in it.

I have sinned; what shall I do to you, O you preserver of men? why have you set me as a mark against you, so that I am a burden to myself?

Does God pervert judgment? or does the Almighty pervert justice?

My net also will I spread on him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

Thus said the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over you with a company of many people; and they shall bring you up in my net.

When they shall go, I will spread my net on them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

And when you shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is near.
