And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray you, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil on Absalom.

The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing: he makes the devices of the people of none effect.

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.

When you go, your steps shall not be straitened; and when you run, you shall not stumble.

It shall be also carried to Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness.
