For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.

Rise up, you women that are at ease; hear my voice, you careless daughters; give ear to my speech.

Is Israel a servant? is he a home born slave? why is he spoiled?

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! for we are spoiled.

Destruction on destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

Do they provoke me to anger? said the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

Cut off your hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

They cried to them, Depart you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

Now, you son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof on it, and the land itself vomits out her inhabitants.

That the land spew not you out also, when you defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you.

You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, where I bring you to dwell therein, spew you not out.

Arise you, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he has changed the portion of my people: how has he removed it from me! turning away he has divided our fields.

And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: and you shall be only oppressed and spoiled ever more, and no man shall save you.
