I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD.

For he stretches out his hand against God, and strengthens himself against the Almighty.

Shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it.

Have you an arm like God? or can you thunder with a voice like him?

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and has prospered?

And Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus said the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

Woe to him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashions it, What make you? or your work, He has no hands?

Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be on you, O inhabitant of Moab, said the LORD.

He that flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on it, even on Moab, the year of their visitation, said the LORD.

And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, said the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
