Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

Understand, you brutish among the people: and you fools, when will you be wise?

Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he has no heart to it?

When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will show them no favor.

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

They have not known nor understood: for he has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are silly children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot listen: behold, the word of the LORD is to them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

And now, because you have done all these works, said the LORD, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you heard not; and I called you, but you answered not;

Yes, the stork in the heaven knows her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

Son of man, you dwell in the middle of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

But they refused to listen, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Having eyes, see you not? and having ears, hear you not? and do you not remember?

He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Saying, Go to this people, and say, Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive:

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

(According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) to this day.

The great temptations which your eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

Yet the LORD has not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.

Do you thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he your father that has bought you? has he not made you, and established you?
