Jeremiah 26:15

But know you for certain, that if you put me to death, you shall surely bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.

And he said, What have you done? the voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.

And Reuben answered them, saying, Spoke I not to you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and you would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

Also in your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but on all these.

But your eyes and your heart are not but for your covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

Thus said the LORD; Execute you judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

If you oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:

So you shall not pollute the land wherein you are: for blood it defiles the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said to him, You have said.

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

That innocent blood be not shed in your land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, and so blood be on you.

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
