Comfort you, comfort you my people, said your God.

Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions to them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy to our LORD: neither be you sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

You have taken away all your wrath: you have turned yourself from the fierceness of your anger.

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace to his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

And in that day you shall say, O LORD, I will praise you: though you were angry with me, your anger is turned away, and you comforted me.

Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that brings good tidings.

Who is among you that fears the LORD, that obeys the voice of his servant, that walks in darkness, and has no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay on his God.

I, even I, am he that comforts you: who are you, that you should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen on you.

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

So will I make my fury toward you to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.

Cry yet, saying, Thus said the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on an ass, and on a colt the foal of an ass.

Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted of God.

Why comfort one another with these words.
