Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to myself.

And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus said the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

And I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, even your firstborn.

Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honorable, and I have loved you: therefore will I give men for you, and people for your life.

I have forsaken my house, I have left my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus said the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your espousals, when you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

And in all your abominations and your prostitutions you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bore, and were polluted in your blood.

And when I passed by you, and saw you polluted in your own blood, I said to you when you were in your blood, Live; yes, I said to you when you were in your blood, Live.

So shall Bethel do to you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god but me: for there is no savior beside me.

And I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

I have loved you, said the LORD. Yet you say, Wherein have you loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? said the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Yes, he loved the people; all his saints are in your hand: and they sat down at your feet; every one shall receive of your words.

The LORD did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people:
