I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Gaius my host, and of the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you, and Quartus a brother.

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do to the brothers, and to strangers;
