Thus said the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the middle of the nations and countries that are round about her.

Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah.

For thus has the LORD of hosts said, Hew you down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the middle of her.

How does the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!

And your renown went forth among the heathen for your beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put on you, said the Lord GOD.

You also, son of man, take you a tile, and lay it before you, and portray on it the city, even Jerusalem:

Then take of them again, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the middle of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers on the grass, that tarries not for man, nor waits for the sons of men.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

As the nations which the LORD destroys before your face, so shall you perish; because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.
