And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, you shall lay on them; you shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelled in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid on us hard bondage:
