All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongs his life in his wickedness.

It is good that you should take hold of this; yes, also from this withdraw not your hand: for he that fears God shall come forth of them all.

There is no man that has power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither has he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

Woe to the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.

There is no peace, said my God, to the wicked.

There shall be no more there an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that serves him not.

And shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.

Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
