Ecclesiastes 2:26

American King James Version (1999)

For God gives to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

And the LORD said to Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? or who has given understanding to the heart?

Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not who shall gather them.

Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail has God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?

I have seen the travail, which God has given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Till now have you asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
