That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done to their gods; so should you sin against the LORD your God.

For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me: for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.

Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in the middle of you:

And you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make your sons go a whoring after their gods.

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Why come out from among them, and be you separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

When you are come into the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you:

When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an ax against them: for you may eat of them, and you shall not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:

Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may perform the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And if any man obey not our word by this letter, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

Why I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.
