I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the name of the LORD.

Thus said the LORD to this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD does not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

To what purpose comes there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet to me.

Thus said the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer to the LORD.

Take you away from me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your viols.

And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious to us: this has been by your means: will he regard your persons? said the LORD of hosts.

And Samuel said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
