Men and brothers, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us to this day.

So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, to the place over against the sepulchers of David, and to the pool that was made, and to the house of the mighty.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid to his fathers, and saw corruption:

You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance.

As also the high priest does bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters to the brothers, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound to Jerusalem, for to be punished.

For the king knows of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
