But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spoke evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

Now be you not stiff necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

And testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law: yet they dealt proudly, and listened not to your commandments, but sinned against your judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Thus said the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.

Yet they listened not to me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are you come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you laid no hold on me.

But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

And when Paul would have entered in to the people, the disciples suffered him not.

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

And I persecuted this way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

But we desire to hear of you what you think: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks for; but the election has obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Therefore has he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardens.

For a great door and effectual is opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

This you know, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
