But he, beckoning to them with the hand to hold their peace, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go show these things to James, and to the brothers. And he departed, and went into another place.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and you that fear God, give audience.

And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brothers, listen to me:

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brothers, they comforted them, and departed.

And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defense to the people.

And the day following Paul went in with us to James; and all the elders were present.

And when he had given him license, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand to the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

And from there, when the brothers heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the heathen, and they to the circumcision.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
