And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Then said he to me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you did set your heart to understand, and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I am come for your words.

His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

And he said to them, Be not affrighted: You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that fears God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for you into his house, and to hear words of you.

Therefore came I to you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent you have sent for me?

He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius.

And said, Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
