Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers which dwelled in Judaea:

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

What will you? shall I come to you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

For I truly, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that has so done this deed,

Moreover I call God for a record on my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet to Corinth.

Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord has given me to edification, and not to destruction.

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have more abundantly to you.

When I shall send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
