I am become a fool in glorying; you have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very most chief apostles, though I be nothing.

Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

So likewise you, when you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

Would to God you could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very most chief apostles.

Truly the signs of an apostle were worked among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he sees me to be, or that he hears of me.

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, letters of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
