I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

That they may offer sacrifices of sweet smells to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray to the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall you have peace.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

So that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

Why I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I thank my God on every remembrance of you,

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers, as it is meet, because that your faith grows exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other abounds;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusts in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle to all men, apt to teach, patient,

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men.

And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
