For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done.

But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that comes in Jerusalem: but I will return again to you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

Why let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful Creator.
