Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

But the end of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober, and watch to prayer.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin to salvation.

And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward.

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil;

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

And now stays faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Gird up your loins now like a man: I will demand of you, and declare you to me.

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

You therefore gird up your loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command you: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them.

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

And thus shall you eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover.

Gird up now your loins like a man; for I will demand of you, and answer you me.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you:

By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein you stand.

And said to them; Go you also into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
