The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks frowardness.

He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The poor uses entreaties; but the rich answers roughly.

The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labor wherein I have labored, and wherein I have showed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if your father answer you roughly?
