Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that you are thereunto called, that you should inherit a blessing.

Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head.

And because he was of the same craft, he stayed with them, and worked: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which spitefully use you.

But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;

And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke you.

For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe.

Neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing; but worked with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail: for laboring night and day, because we would not be chargeable to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

Yes, you yourselves know, that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to them that were with me.

Why let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful Creator.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.
