And many other things in his exhortation preached he to the people.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, You men and brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Or he that exhorts, on exhortation: he that gives, let him do it with simplicity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things with which one may edify another.

Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Even so you, for as much as you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.

For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

How is it then, brothers? when you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.

For you may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

Now as touching things offered to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.

Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted of God.

So that contrariwise you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

Whom I have sent to you for the same purpose, that you might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

Whom I have sent to you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;

As you know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father does his children,

For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

Furthermore then we beseech you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.

Why comfort one another with these words.

Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the disputers.

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

And I beseech you, brothers, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter to you in few words.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein you stand.

But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
