And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;

Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

He that covers a transgression seeks love; but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.

Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous:

Now we exhort you, brothers, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;

By pureness, by knowledge, by long-suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

And these things, brothers, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

But you have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,

She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She stretches out her hand to the poor; yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.

The beginning of strife is as when one lets out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

And refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not.

Why laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings,

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

For you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men?

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

If the spirit of the ruler rise up against you, leave not your place; for yielding pacifies great offenses.

Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

His ways are always grievous; your judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffs at them.

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Now as touching things offered to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

And his brothers envied him; but his father observed the saying.

Do you think that the scripture said in vain, The spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy?

Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found to you such as you would not: lest there be debates, contentions, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, arrogance, tumults:

And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.

For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
