Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brothers.

Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:

Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

The son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchiah,

Then on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the middle of the congregation;

And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah, and Mattaniah:

Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.

Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brothers, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among his brothers, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.

And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:

For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred forty and eight.

The mighty God, even the LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

O God, why have you cast us off for ever? why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?

To you, O God, do we give thanks, to you do we give thanks: for that your name is near your wondrous works declare.

In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

I cried to God with my voice, even to God with my voice; and he gave ear to me.

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

O God, the heathen are come into your inheritance; your holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell between the cherubim, shine forth.

Sing aloud to God our strength: make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob.

God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods.

Keep not you silence, O God: hold not your peace, and be not still, O God.

And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name.
