I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself [saying], Thou have chastised me, and I was chastised as a calf unaccustomed [to the yoke]. Turn thou me back, and I shall be turned back, for thou are LORD my God.
And they raised over him a great heap of stones, to this day, and LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, to this day.
And in that day thou shall say, I will give thanks to thee, O LORD, for though thou were angry with me. Thine anger is turned away and thou comfort me.
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, the Holy One in the midst of thee, and I will not come in wrath.
