When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,

Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, says LORD. It is a mighty nation. It is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou know not, nor understand what they say.

LORD will bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue thou shall not understand,

With thine arm thou have redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

No, but by [men of] strange lips and with another tongue he will speak to this people,

that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of LORD's Passover, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments. I am LORD.

And Moses said, Thus says LORD, About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt,

who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

and hallow my Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am LORD your God.

that the generation to come might know, even the sons who should be born, who should arise and tell to their sons,

These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, when they came forth out of Egypt,

And it came to pass at midnight, that LORD smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first-born of cattl
