Psalm 68:6

A Conservative Version

God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners into prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

He makes the barren woman to keep house, a joyful mother of sons. Praise ye LORD.

For LORD hears the needy, and does not despise his prisoners.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds apart.

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren woman not giving birth. Burst forth and shout, thou not suffering birth pains, because many more are the children of the desolate than of her who has the husband.

Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread, and those who were hungry have ceased [to hunger]. Yea, the barren has borne seven, and she who has many sons languishes.

And suddenly a great earthquake occurred, so as for the foundations of the prison to shake. And immediately all the doors were opened, and the bonds of all the men were unfastened.

a fruitful land into a salt desert, for the wickedness of those who dwell therein.

but Esau I regarded inferior, and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.

lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.

He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the sojourner in giving him food and raiment.

Thou have seen. For thou behold mischief and spite, to repay with thy hand. The poor man commits [himself] to thee. Thou have been the helper of the fatherless.

for their Redeemer is strong. He will plead their cause against thee.
