A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

A wicked man is snared by the transgression of [his] lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.

As for the head of those who encompass me around, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

He says to him, Out of thy mouth I will judge thee, thou evil bondman. Thou had known that I am an austere man taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow.

And it shall come to pass, that all those who look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste. Who will bemoan her? From where shall I seek comforters for thee?

For was not Israel a derision to thee? Was he found among thieves? For as often as thou speak of him, thou wag the head.

to make their land an astonishment, and a perpetual hissing, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shake his head.

I have become a reproach because of all my adversaries, yea, to my neighbors exceedingly, and a fear to my acquaintances. Those who saw me outside fled from me.

All those who see me laugh me to scorn. They shoot out the lip. They shake the head, [saying],

Thine own mouth condemns thee, and not I. Yes, thine own lips testify against thee.

having stood from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, the great city, Babylon, the mighty city! Because thy judgment has come in one hour.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out from her, my people, so that ye may not participate with her sins, and that ye may not receive from her plagues.

[for] the sin of their mouth, [and] the words of their lips. Let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying which they speak.

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him, [saying],

When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at thy presence.

And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.

Cast forth lightning, and scatter them. Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.
