Now the chief priests and the elders and the whole council sought FALSE testimony against Jesus, so that they might put him to death,

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their inward part is very wickedness. Their throat is an open sepulcher. With their tongue they deceive (LXX/NT).

He says in his heart, God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.
