Psalm 57:1

A Conservative Version

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in thee. Yea, in the shadow of thy wings I will take refuge until calamities be passed by.

How precious is thy loving kindness, O God, and the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

But I have trusted in thy loving kindness. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

And I said to him, My lord, thou know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Who is among you that fears LORD, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of LORD, and rely upon his God.

I cry with my voice to LORD. With my voice to LORD I make supplication.

Truly, truly, I say to you, that ye will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. Ye will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will become into joy.

And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved. But because of the chosen those days will be shortened.

Those who trust in LORD are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God. Set me on high from those who rise up against me.

Do ye indeed speak righteousness in silence? Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall be accomplished, and my anger [is] to his destruction.

And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave, and Saul went in to cover his feet. Now David and his men were abiding in the innermost parts of the cave.

And the men of David said to him, Behold, the day of which LORD said to thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thy hand, and thou shall do to him as it shall seem good to thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul

And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not, for who can put forth his hand against LORD's anointed, and be guiltless?

We give thanks to thee, O God. We give thanks, for thy name is near. Men tell of thy wondrous works.
