Be surety for thy servant for good. Let not the proud oppress me.
By so much, Jesus has become the surety of a better covenant.
Like a swallow [or] a crane, so I chattered. I moaned as a dove. My eyes fail [with looking] upward. O LORD, I am oppressed, be thou my surety.
Thou have rebuked the proud, who are cursed, who wander from thy commandments.
Give now a pledge, be surety for me with thyself. Who is there that will strike hands with me?
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of sinners drive me away.
I will be surety for him, of my hand shall thou require him. If I do not bring him to thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame forever.
