Psalm 115:1

A Conservative Version

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to thy name give glory. For thy loving kindness, and for thy truth's sake.

For my own sake, for my own sake, I will do it. For how should [my name] be profaned? And I not will give my glory to another.

But I worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

Ascribe to LORD the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

I do [this] not for your sake, says lord LORD; be it known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

for appreciation of the glory of his grace, by which he blessed us in him who is beloved.

Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says lord LORD: I do not do [this] for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations where ye went.

O LORD, hear. O LORD, forgive. O LORD, hearken and do. Defer not, for thine own sake, O my God, because thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

He shall abide before God forever. O prepare loving kindness and truth that they may preserve him.

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and will encompass us around, and cut off our name from the earth, and what will thou do for thy great name?

Because the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came to be through Jesus Christ.

Thou will perform the truth to Jacob, [and] the loving kindness to Abraham, which thou have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause. Remember how the foolish man reproaches thee all the day.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks to thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth. For thou have magnified thy word above all thy name.
