When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man bears rule, the people sigh.

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.

And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king's son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but LORD hid them.

Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand, for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not. Know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned

Then the rulers said to Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah, and let no man know where ye are.
