The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger sins [against] his own life.

The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favor is as dew upon the grass.

If the spirit of the ruler rises up against thee, leave not thy place, for deference allays great offences.

Now therefore as LORD lives, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
