Lord LORD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary. He awakens morning by morning. He awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the foolish, not so.

Oil and perfume rejoice the heart, so [too] the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

But the wisdom from above is indeed first pure, then peaceful, meek, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-hypocritical.

The subordinates answered, A man never so spoke like this man.

And all witnessed to him, and wondered at the words of grace that proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is this not the son of Joseph?

The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly--words of truth.

My son, if thy heart be wise, my heart will be glad, even mine.

The wise in heart will receive commandments, but a prating fool shall fall.

Thou are fairer than the sons of men. Grace is poured into thy lips. Therefore God has blessed thee forever.

behold, I have done according to thy word. Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart, so that there has been none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like thee.

For your obedience reached to all men. Therefore I rejoice over you, but I want you to be indeed wise in the good and pure in the evil.

Jesus having responded at that time, said, I extol thee, O Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, because thou hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to the childlike.

Understanding is a well-spring of life to him who has it, but the correction of fools is folly.

Who is wise, that he may understand these things, prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them. But transgressors shall fall therein.

In the lips of him who has discernment wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

It is as sport to a fool to do mischief, and [so is] wisdom to a man of understanding.
