A wise man fears, and departs from evil, but the fool bears himself insolently, and is confident.

Be not wise in thine own eyes. Fear LORD, and depart from evil.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

If a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there will be no rest.

A simple man believes every word, but the prudent man looks well to his going.

He who is soon angry will deal foolishly. And a man of wicked devices is hated.

And the donkey saw the agent of LORD, and she lay down under Balaam. And Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the donkey with his staff.

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was perfect and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.

For the backsliding of the simple shall kill them, and the careless ease of fools shall destroy them.
