Poverty and shame [are to] him who refuses correction, but he who regards reproof shall be honored.

He who loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is brutish.

An earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, [is] a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

He who despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who fears the commandment shall be rewarded.

Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.

The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.

A righteous man eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the belly of the wicked shall want.

It is better to hear the rebuke of a wise man, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Let us lay down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us, for we have sinned against LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of LORD our God.
