He who goes around as a tale-bearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets. Therefore do not associate with him who opens wide his lips.

Debate thy case with thy neighbor [himself], and disclose not the secret of another,

Thou shall not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people, neither shall thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor. I am LORD.

And also at the same time they learn to be idle, roving the houses, and not only idle, but also babbling and meddlesome, speaking things that they ought not.

And the men said to her, Our life for yours if ye do not utter this our business. And it shall be, when LORD gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

Then all the rulers came to Jeremiah, and asked him. And he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him, for the matter was not perceived.

A faithful witness will not lie, but a FALSE witness utters lies.

But if thou utter this our business, then we shall be guiltless of thine oath which thou have made us to swear.

He who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Transgression is not lacking in the multitude of words, but he who refrains his lips does wisely.
