For we all stumble in many things. If any man does not stumble in word, this is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

For a dream comes with a multitude of business, and a fool's voice with a multitude of words.

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked man is before me.

Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be justified?

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it.

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God. For God is in heaven, and thou upon earth. Therefore let thy words be few.

He who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

He who goes around as a tale-bearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

Keep thy foot when thou go to the house of God, for to draw near to hear is better than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they know not that they do evil.
